Anime 103: Studios

In this post I will talk about Studios in anime, there are alot of studios and mostly create random stuff, but there are a bunch of big ones that you may need to know about and know what to expect of them, I will list the ones I follow (for better and for worse):

Madhouse

This is one of the biggest studios out there, nowadays their anime always get high rating and they are the creator of many famous shows like One Punch Man, Death Note and No Game No Life, from my understanding they are a collap studio where they get different people from other places to create a show. that why they do many different genres, styles and feel. Just when know a Madhouse show is going to be something special

Shaft

This is a famous one, but for me I try to stay away from their stuff at this point, they are known to create artsy shows with "Unique" animations, for me their style is just confusing and low key annoying, I feel their shows should have seizure warning from how weird they are, but they are for better or worse incredibly unique and their stories are interesting too

Studio Ghibli

It is a really famous one during the 90s, their shows are considered classics in the anime community, for me I only watched one of their movies and to be honest I just can not handle the old animation, I didn't grow up watching anime, so I do not have the nestalgia feeling like many do with 90s shows and movies.

Kyoto Animation

This is to me the best out there, their shows always have Amazing animation and great stories. I will just always watch anything they put out nowadays

Bones

this is also a big studio which is behind Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop and My Hero Academia, they do not put out many shows but their things are always interesting

P.A. Works

this is not that big, but they always put out "Original" Shows which is always refreshing even though they almost always suffer from being rushed

Wit Studio

this is also not that big, but they put out nice shows, that now am always interested in their works, like Attack on Titan and Magus Bride as will as Seraph of the End

Silver Link

this is a random studio but it is known for that they are not scared of sexualizing Lolies. Their biggest show is one about Magical girl lesbian Lolis so watch out if you are not comfortable with these things...

Chinese Stuff

this is not a studio but you need to know that on Mal they also include Chinese shows, they are not dubbed in English nor japanese and not always available, so you could find an interesting show but not find it anywhere. Also their language is weirder and less structured, so it will throw you off even if you did not understand anything. with Japanese you will understand when they say a name and will start catching words after a while, I watched a couple and could not catch anything, it felt like it would not matter if I had it on mute it is just off putting. to determine if it is chinese or not just read the Characters names, their naming is different than Japanese also they wont have listed Cast.
